The Well

In creating the set design for a dance performance choreographed by Loretta Thomas, Anne Patterson designed three totemic sculptures as well as a “well” out of driftwood collected from a rocky beach in Rhode Island. From her favorite material (textiles), she created a cascade resembling water.

The Well, a piece inspired in part by the I Ching, influenced Patterson to bring the elements into her work in a more fundamental way and to work with natural, found material.

Presented October 22-24th, 2021 at the
Mark O’Donnell Theater at the Actors Fund Arts Center.

Choreographer: Loretta Thomas
Dancers: Moving Visions Dancers
