Orchestral Installation
An evening of music can be exciting to the ear, the intellect,
and the eye. Anne Patterson is expanding the boundaries within
which classical music is presented.
Anne Patterson creates a simple visual language of scenery
and lighting which is then manipulated throughout the performance
in response to the music. The addition of these visuals is done
in a sensitive and intelligent way. The beauty and magic of
the music is the inspiration for these ideas. Therefore these
additional elements complement rather than compete with the
music. The goal of these endeavors is to enhance the concert
experience for the audience member. These initiatives have attracted
new audiences, specifically a younger more visually oriented
group. This visual enhancement is a way to open the door into
the power and beauty of the live classical music performance
to the person who might otherwise not visit a concert hall.
In many ways a concert is inherently a theatrical experience.
The inclusion of scenery and lighting just makes it explicit. |
