I am continuing my exploration of the changing aspects of nature - whether it be waves breaking on the rocks or the transition of winter into spring. Working in series I can delve deeply into different depictions of the same subject matter.

Color. light and movement informed by nature was the focus of my watercolor paintings in my most recent gallery exhibition. Particular moments of time during the cycle of the day are apparent in a number of sweeping seascapes as well as pure abstraction in underwater and semi-immersed waterscapes. These sketches were my starting point to generate ideas for my installations for Mercury Soul. Mercury Soul is a hybrid musical event featuring electronica interspersed with performances of contemporary classical music, all brought to life by my original sculptures, lighting, and video. My paintings are nature inspired. Many of my paintings evoke the water imagery of my home state's coastline, Rhode Island.
